A Harley detachable fairing doesn't necessarily have to be just for cold weather, and if you purchase a high quality variety like we have for sale below, you should be able to use it just as frequently as you want. Just like the permanent fairings, the detachable fairing is sturdy enough to stay on the bike year round if you like. But if you are like us, you'll probably just use it for the previously mentioned cold weather aspects or for long road trips.
There are options of course in choosing a Harley detachable fairing. We've found very low priced fairings for the budget consumer, which are nothing more than a wind screen. And then there are those detachable fairings for sale which don't resemble temporary solutions at all. These are fairly high priced and include the full complement of resources in a typical, permanent fairing: radio port, speaker mounts, and the like.
You can of course be free to do what you would like, but we feel like a Harley detachable fairing should probably be low profile with as few "extras" as possible. The kind of person that typically uses one is normally just looking to continue riding through cold weather and doesn't need or want to spend a lot of money to be able to do so.
For the best value, look for fairings molded in TPO type plastics with a windshield already attached. Batwing detachable fairings are preferred, but there are of course a couple of options there as well. If you want to cover your hands as well, then definitely go with the Batwing style detachable.
We're looking for ease of use here, so the easier to put on the better, and the more finished the better! So pre-assembled, painted, and a clear coat should already be completed before your purchase of a Harley Detachable Fairing.
